What Are Pressure Washers and Do I Need One?

Do I need a pressure washer?

Strange questions and the answer is ‘probably’. To many it may be no because some people still don’t know much about pressure washers. You see, I moved into my new house 6 months ago and discovered the whole patio and driveway was covered in a moss type substance which I could have spent the next 10 years scraping away only for it to grow back again quickly. So I found out more about pressure washers by asking around. They are great cleaners that use high pressure jets of water to power through dirt and blast away those weeds, moss and other unattractive things that grow in between the stones on your driveway.

Not only that, but these products are pretty cheap and they last many years. Karcher and Nilfisk are the most prominent manufacturers and their products are very reliable. They include many feature such as adding detergent (if you want to use it) and include various nozzles and accessories to clean different types of surfaces. Patio cleaning is a breeze now, as most power washers will include splash back protectors so that you don’t have to worry about cleaning your clothes straight after! There are concentration nozzles too, which help get rid of stubborn areas of grime. Machine strengths are measured in litres per hour i.e. how many litres are pushed through in a given hour. Some power washers are so powerful, they take out tiling grouting so you may need to adjust strength or use different accessories for different surfaces.

Blocked drains are also a breeze for pressure washers. Our sewer was very problematic as we share the connections with two eateries. Unfortunately they had spent years emptying food down the drains, which clogged everything up. Once the pressure washer was out, there was no stopping us! The drain was clear within minutes (and prior to this, the neighbours had spent various hours with rods trying to clear it).

These models are usually fit with safety valves so you won’t need to worry about pressure building up if there is some sort of blockage. Karcher (my favourite brand) usually offer a 3 year warranty with their power washers, so it’ll put your mind at ease.

For me it was a lifesaver. I cleaned the whole of my house exterior within a day or two, which probably would have taken months using more manual methods.

These power washers, in summary, reduce time and save money in the long run. In short, if you have to maintain patios, driveways and/or a garden, then it would be suitable to purchase one of these pressure washers.

LCD Vs LED Debate Broken Down! Learn the True Differences Between Both TVs

If you are in the market for a DVD player, you are going to have to make a decision. Do you get a standard DVD player? Or do you move up to Blu-ray? If you are not familiar with the two technologies, this decision can be a little frustrating.

Blu-ray (blue laser) enthusiasts will always fawn over its supposed superiority, but do you really need to spend the money? Keep reading to know what questions you need to ask yourself in making this decision.

Do you consider yourself a movie fanatic?

If so, then you might want to lean towards Blu-ray. The truth is those players can play both the blue laser discs and standard DVDs. The screen resolution is also high definition, so the pictures and images are several factors better than conventional DVD’s. If you love movies, you probably expect the best from your home theater.

Consider the television that you will be playing these movies on.

If it is a standard definition television, a regular DVD player might be a better choice to save you money. Unless your TV is high definition, 720 or 1080, then a blue laser player will not result in a better picture because the screen just cannot handle it.

Think about your future entertainment budget.

If you do go blue laser, you need to know that these discs do cost more than regular DVD’s. However, DVD’s are starting to fade out of preference, as more and more movies are released as Blu-ray/DVD packages instead of one or the other.

As you are probably starting to see, just how much does picture quality mean to you? If you just want some basic couch time and escapism, where you care more about story and acting, regular DVD’s should be fine. This is especially true of any small screens you are setting up for virtual white noise, like in your home office. Elaborate home theaters are what should have Blu-ray.

Consider your immediate budget for the hardware.

You can get a used regular DVD player from second hand retailers or thrift stores, even yard sales, for not many dollars. On the other hand, Blu-ray players are still a significant chunk of change. They are not as pricey as they used to be, but they are still not cheap electronics.

Think about how long you intend to use the player you are going to buy.

If you are hoping to get five or more years’ use out of it, then you need to go with a Blu-ray player. Regular DVD’s are already on the way out of the marketplace, although it will take many more years before they join VHS in history.

One last factor to have in mind is whether or not you can already play Blu-ray discs. Your home computer might have a Blu-ray player in it that you can enable to play movies cheaper than buying a standalone player. Certain gaming consoles also already have the necessary hardware for playing Blu-ray discs.

When you keep these criteria in mind, you are going to have a much easier time choosing between a Blu-ray player and a standard DVD player. Use all these questions and factors to make an informed decision!

Pure Sine Wave Inverter

If you want the best possible form of portable power, a pure sine wave inverter is definitely the best tool that you can use as a backup system. For medical equipment for electronics pure sign we’ve inverter output is the best form to use. Modified sine wave inverters are little bit cheaper to pick up and can provide you with portable backup power but some forms of electronics may not work with this type of wave inverter. There are some common problems that tend to happen when running sensitive electronic devices using a modified inverter. The following article will provide you with some of the reasons why you should potentially use of pure sine inverter for portable power and some of the effects that you might experience from a modified sine wave inverter and powering sensitive electronic devices.

Microwaves: in some cases microwaves will not work or heat food correctly when used with a modified sine wave inverter. A pure sine wave inverter will be able to power microwave correctly and also make sure that all of your food remains well cooked and that the function of your microwave stands to be the exact same as it would on the electrical grid. When a microwave using given the right type of power it will only achieve inconsistent cooking results, if you want to power your microwave in your camper or off the grid, the best way to do it is with a pure sine unit because you will be able to cook much more predictably and to make sure that any of the items that you put in your microwave will be well cooked when they come out.

Medical equipment: in some cases using medical equipment with a modified sine inverter is completely impossible. Some forms of sensitive equipment will simply not turn on when they are plugged into a type of power that they are unfamiliar with. For certain monitors and other forms of medical equipment which require grid power, they will function just fine on a pure sine wave inverter system. Functioning on a modified sine unit is impossible for most medical monitoring systems and medical equipment. This is a safety feature so that power cannot be interrupted and that there will be no medical mistakes while using the equipment.

Computer screens and TV screens: when using a computer screen with a modified sine wave inverter, you may experience a lot of noise and extra static on the screen. Using up your pure sine wave inverter will make sure that you don’t see any static and that the device will continue to function as normal. Reducing the amount of static as well as the amount of noise that your TV gives off with hope you really enjoy your programming while you’re off the grid. This type of noise can also be seen on a laptop screen when you’re using it for work or when you’re trying to use applications on your laptop with sound. Making sure that your laptop as well as your TV function normally can only be done with pure sign we’ve inverter power.

Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Review

The Canon EOS 3Ti is the third EOS Rebel ‘T’ model to be released, replacing last years EOS T2i. This new digital SLR model offers many improvements over the older version including increased low light shooting options at higher ISO speeds, faster autofocusing system, full HD video recording and a variable angle LED display with over 1 million pixels of resolution. Let’s have a deeper look:

18 Megapixels for High Quality Prints

One of the main reasons to buy any new camera is how big the sensor is and how many megapixels of resolution the camera offers. In the case of the 3Ti, you’re presented with what is known as a crop factor or APS-C sensor size (about half the size of a 35mm film size) that offers 18 megapixels. Due to the higher pixel density of the Canon, the result is pixel free images, even when enlarged to poster sized prints of 20×30 inches or more.

Fantastic Low Light Shooting Capability

Where other digital camera fail when the light drops, you can keep shooting with the Canon 3Ti thank to the high ISO capability of this affordable DSLR. Compared to much higher priced digital cameras, when it comes to shooting in the dark the Canon 3Ti offers high ISO photograph with very little image quality degradation.

How To Choose The Right Printer For Home Use

A printer has become standard equipment for any home that has a computer. There are hundreds of models to choose from. Whether you need to replace a broken printer or just want to upgrade to one with more features, choosing the right printer can be mind-boggling.

Printers can range from the very simple, one-function machines, to the multi-functional machines that can scan, print and copy. Not only do you have to think about printer functions, but you also need to consider ink requirements to determine if the printer is a good investment. So if you want some guidance in selecting a reliable printer, read over this article.

Different printers are designed for different capacities. Think about how often you will need to use your printer. If you just need a printer to print an occasional article that you find or web pages of information that you were looking for, then the cheaper, low-end printers can handle these light print jobs.

If you are running a business and you need to print reports every day, something like a laser-jet will handle high-capacity printing. So, make an assessment of how much printing you will actually do, and take that into consideration when you are looking at printer specs.

In addition, think about what kind of printing you will be doing the most.

Colour printer is great to have, but if 90 percent of your printing is text and is usually in black and white, you may not want to spend the extra cost on colour.

Laser-jets are superior to inkjets when it comes to black and white printing. If you think you will be printing photo-quality images more, then a good-quality colour printer that can accommodate photo-grade paper will be needed.

Machines that are multi-functional, with printing, scanning and copying combined, are become very popular for home use. The main advantage is that you are almost getting three machines in one. You save a lot of desk space when you do not have to buy three separate machines.

However, beware that for some all-in-one machines, the functions are interdependent. If you are low on toner and you cannot print, this may also prevent you from scanning. Multi-functional machines are a little more expensive than stand-alone printers, depending on the model. But the convenience of having multi-functions in one machine attracts many users.

Ink is an important thing to consider. You will notice that printers go on sale quite often, and sometimes a printer can be free after rebates. However, ink is usually where the money is spent. When you are making a selection, look at the type of ink that is used.

A printer that uses individual ink cartridges for each colour has the advantage of only needing to replace one colour when the colour runs out. On the other hand, printers that use cartridges that contain three or more colours will need the whole thing replaced if just one colour runs out. This is a cost consideration. So, make your decision wisely.

Keep these tips in mind, and read reviews. With careful consideration, you can select the printer that is right for you.

3D Printing Houses

3D printing is a very interesting form of manufacturing technology in my opinion. This technology allows for the creation of virtually anything. Many printers exist out there, and many materials are offered to choose from. In fact, more than 100 materials are offered for printing. I want to discuss how this technology can change the way we look at efficiency. Before I can do that, let me tell you what 3D printing really is, and how the process works.

3D printing is the layer by layer creation of pretty much whatever you want in one (or more) of a variety of materials. These machines, or printers, will lay down layers of material down, sometimes as thin as 12 microns, sometimes as thick as 12 inches. It all depends on the printer. Some of the machines are the size of a desktop computer, which usually yields small parts like rings, jewelry, or hearing aids. Some 3D printing machines, or printers, are about the size of a refrigerator and they can produce parts which are around 10″ x 10″ x 10″. Some machines are almost the width of your bed, and can produce parts as large as a motorcycle helmet. Some are incredibly large, and can produce houses out of concrete! It all depends on which machine you want, which material you want, the levels of detail, smoothness, etc. There are quite a few factors.

How does the process actually work? Well, initially a design will have to be mocked up on the computer by a designer, engineer, artists, or whatever you’d like to call it. This design can be pretty intricate, as 3D printing doesn’t rely on the same design rules that other forms of manufacturing do. These designs will be made in the form of a 3D model, created out of various software. This model will then be sent to the machine for 3D printing. 3D printing revolves around a CAM system, or a computer aided manufacturing system. This means that the process is almost entirely automated. The computer will “aid” the manufacturing process, and tell the printer itself where to lay down the material. This process is very neat, as it is pretty much entirely automated when it comes down to producing pieces.

One interesting application I want to talk about is the creation of houses. I’m talking about 3D printing houses. There is technology available which allows for the creation of entire houses through printing concrete. The machines are able to create the homes in the course of 24 hours. I’m not entirely sure how electrical outlets, plumbing, and lighting works –but I know that the frame can be manufactured within a day. This is great, as 3D printing is almost entirely automated. This lowers the expenses for employment. The process itself is actually less expensive. It is much greener for the environment. It is much cheaper on material. It is much quicker. This will help promote inexpensive housing in 3rd world countries, or even various expeditions around the world, or even to crazy places like the moon!

How 3D Printing Is Green

3D printing is a very neat form of manufacturing technology in my opinion. It allows for the creation of some seriously intricate pieces that can’t be done through traditional manufacturing, it is very efficient in many situations, and has no ceiling on where it can go. There are some crazy applications such as printing parts to firearms, food, houses, organs, and other entirely custom designs. There is simply no limit as to where this technology could go in my opinion. One factor about this technology that I want to discuss is the efficiency, as well as the “green” capabilities of this technology. 3D Printing is much more friendly for the environment than other forms of manufacturing like mold manufacturing, or traditional (and newer) machining applications. There are simply so many possibilities for this technology, not to mention the great factors for it.

Before I even get into that, let me discuss what 3D printing actually is, and how the process works. First off, 3D printing is the layer by layer assembly of pretty much whatever you want. A printer, or machine used for 3D printing will actually lay down materials at a layer at a time. These layers could be a fraction of the diameter of a human hair, or they could be a foot in length. There are so many options when it comes into manufacturing pieces. There are so many materials to choose from, there are well over 100 in fact. There are so many machines to choose from! There are printers which are as small as your desktop printer, but there are printers which are larger than your king sized bed. Some of these printers will be creating small pieces for dental applications, hearing aids, jewelry applications, and small pieces. Some of these printers are prototyping large pieces used in cars, houses, and various large pieces. There are tons of variety in what can be produced.

How does 3D printing actually work? Well, like I said the printer will lay down material one layer at a time. However, these machines run off of a CAM system, or a computer aided manufacturing system. This means that 3D printing is done through an automated process. A designer of some kind will have to create a 3D model from his or her computer, and he or she will have to send the model to the printer. When everything is assembled on the printer, the design will be plugged I, and the operator will pretty much hit “go” and the print will start.

This technology is very significant, as it is very green for the environment. The amount of material used is typically the amount of material used. Due to the layer by layer process, material is added, not removed and wasted. Also, 3D printing helps to reduce outsourced work, as it can simply be plugged into the machine in the US, instead of outsourced to India, China, or Taiwan. The transportation of moving product from a facility in China to the USA is much harsher than the production of a custom part from a local printer.
