A Quick Guide to Printing Your Best Photos at Home

If you have a digital camera or a smartphone with a camera included, there is a good chance that by now you have hundreds or thousands of photos stored away on your computer. Although digital photos are more convenient, it is a shame that these often end up staying on a computer rather than being printed out and used in albums.

However, if you want to print your photos out to create an album, there is now no need to go to a specialist printing shop to produce high-quality photos. As long as you have the right equipment you can print your photos at home yourself. Here’s what you need to get started.

1. Printer

If you already have a computer with your photos on it, you will need a printer in order to print out your photos to a standard similar to that which you would be able to obtain in a professional printing shop. For this you will need to purchase a home printer

When you are choosing your printer, make sure that you find one that is capable of printing photo-quality images, which many of the latest models can do. Also, try to find one in which you will be able to use the cheapest ink cartridges you can find that can still produce a quality result. Ink cartridges can be quite expensive sometimes, so research the cheapest ink cartridges you can find and then make sure you choose a printer that uses these.

2. Photo-Quality Paper

To print photos that will look and feel just like normal photographs that have been developed from film, make sure that you use the best quality photo paper that you can find. Even if you are using the cheapest ink cartridges to print off your photos, the quality of the paper has a huge effect on the overall quality of the photos so make sure you choose the best that you can find.

3. Ink Cartridges

Once you have your printer and photo-quality paper in place, you will need some colour ink cartridges. These don’t have to be expensive, and even the cheapest ink cartridges can still produce excellent image quality if you use the right printer and paper. There are many places to find printer cartridges for less, including online stores, so start your search here.

Your Nikon D5100 DSLR Camera

The Nikon DSLR D5100 camera is an enthusiast level camera with many features of the more expensive professional types. For my money, this a great value camera producing some amazing results. I’m going to describe some of the great features on this camera.

The thing I noticed when I first used my camera was the live screen. I thought this would be of no great advantage to me other than for making HD movies, which this camera is capable of. I much prefer to use the viewfinder when capturing stills. However, there is an advantage to having a live screen view that I had not previously thought about. How many times have you focussed on a distant object, whether it be by manual or by autofocus, only to find that the subject is blurry or indistinct? Well, there is a way to improve that distant focus by using the live view and the zoom function on the back of the camera. (It looks like a magnifying glass with a + sign in the middle) Zoom in to a comfortable level, using the tripod if necessary, and fine tune the focus. Take the shot which should be sharply focussed on that distant object.

Another advantage of the DSLR camera is its ability to shoot in low light levels Using a high ISO such as 6,400 can still produce clear shots without much noise, depending on what size print you might want. This high ISO level, coupled with a large aperture can allow for faster shutter speeds than normal in these conditions. Also, if you set the Auto ISO feature to a maximum of 6,400 you can greatly increase the camera’s capabilities.

Something I became aware of, when I was looking at camera forums, was the ability to reset the camera to the manufacturer’s defaults by pressing only 2 buttons together. Many of you will be aware that every camera has this capability, but it was new to me. On the back of the camera are the information and menu buttons, both of which have green dots on them. Pressing these at the same time resets the camera. So it doesn’t matter what changes you have made to the camera, you can reset it with ease. This is particularly useful if you are getting spurious results when shooting a scene and don’t know what’s wrong because you have fiddled about with the camera too much.

What this camera also does is allow you to shoot with preset automatic interval timing. With a bit of practice, you can produce those fantastic time lapse movies of flowers opening, the stars moving across the sky etc. You access this function through the Shooting Menu and then by opening the Interval Timer Shooting menu. This allows you set an interval, e.g. every 5 minutes, and the camera will take a shot for the number of times you set it for. You have to bear in mind that a movie plays at about 24 frames per second, so you will need to calculate the number of shots the camera takes to produce a reasonable length movie. Of course, a tripod is a must.

Finally, the movie setting is sufficient to produce professional looking movies with a bit of practice. The one thing I do recommend is that you preset the focus for the particular scene you are shooting. The Auto focus is OK but has a tendency to hunt a little bit. Also, if you use Manual Focus, the motor in the lens won’t add to the noise from the on camera microphone. For better results, an off camera microphone is the go.

There are many more functions on this camera and it’s just a matter of experience and time getting to know them better. I hope you have as much fun using this camera as I have.

Nikon Cameras Stand Out As High Quality Cameras

Today as you can see there is a throat cutting competition in each industry. About 50 percent of the companies want to keep their hands on competitors and for that sole reason they can go to any extent. Though the list of such companies is vast, still there are companies which have managed to proscribe to this blind race. They just believe in concentrating on their own work rather than pulling other’s leg to get going. Customer satisfaction tops the priority list of such companies and that is why people prefer such reputed brand names when they want to invest in something new. In such a list of companies Nikon is sure to be the topper due to its unparalleled repute and name.

Nikon, a part of the Mistubishi Group of Companies, is a Japanese multinational corporation which manufactures cameras, microscopes, binoculars, measurement instruments, ophthalmic-based lenses, steppers and other lens-oriented products.

Everyone wants a camera which helps him/her save the memorable lifetime moments. People continue to look for advanced features in digital cameras. Nikon has been there at the top when it comes to high quality digital cameras. The Best Nikon Cameras come in a diverse range of designs and added features that one would not find in most other cameras in the market. And the best thing about Nikon Cameras is its affordable prices than many other popular names.

Nikon Cameras for the Beginner

When it comes to affordability, we all want everything for nothing. Its price starts at around $300, so it’s affordable too. The only difference between COOLPIX L120 and other professional cameras is a short list of features and the price tag.

Nikon Cameras for the Expert

Nikon is at its best for expert photographers. The Nikon D7000 is what all professional photographers want. It has an amazing 16.2 megapixel resolution which helps in taking high quality photos at 6 frames per second. It does 1080 HD recording. No one will find anything holding them from being a professional photographer with this incredible Nikon D7000. Even if the person is not a professional, then one can easily fool his/her friends by giving them amazingly captured photos and recorded videos. Obviously the flash light brings light to the darkest places, so photographers need not worry if they cannot see in the diminished light set-up. Changing the lens however, is quite a tortuous process for beginners who are learning to be a professional camera person. Lens changing is useful to maintain the quality of photos for long distances image capture.

Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Review

The Canon EOS 3Ti is the third EOS Rebel ‘T’ model to be released, replacing last years EOS T2i. This new digital SLR model offers many improvements over the older version including increased low light shooting options at higher ISO speeds, faster autofocusing system, full HD video recording and a variable angle LED display with over 1 million pixels of resolution. Let’s have a deeper look:

18 Megapixels for High Quality Prints

One of the main reasons to buy any new camera is how big the sensor is and how many megapixels of resolution the camera offers. In the case of the 3Ti, you’re presented with what is known as a crop factor or APS-C sensor size (about half the size of a 35mm film size) that offers 18 megapixels. Due to the higher pixel density of the Canon, the result is pixel free images, even when enlarged to poster sized prints of 20×30 inches or more.

Fantastic Low Light Shooting Capability

Where other digital camera fail when the light drops, you can keep shooting with the Canon 3Ti thank to the high ISO capability of this affordable DSLR. Compared to much higher priced digital cameras, when it comes to shooting in the dark the Canon 3Ti offers high ISO photograph with very little image quality degradation.

Full HD Video Recording Capability

Like all cameras released this year, the Canon also offers high definition video recording, but unlike lesser cameras the 3Ti can offer shooting modes of 1080p with more one frame per second setting. Choose from 24, 25 or 30 frames per second video shooting for a more cinematic feel. The manual focus control offers video focus shooting that you control for the ultimate in full control of your your videography.

Big and Bright LED Display

New to the Canon 3Ti is the ability to adjust the LED display away from the camera body for better viewing angles so you can compose an review your images without glare - a common problem with standard DSLRs especially when shooting in bright daylight. The LED display also offers over 1 million pixels on a 3 inch LED display for the ultimate in image quality.

Conclusion

For the money, it’s hard to beat the Canon 3Ti when it comes to price and performance ratio. With a street price of under $600, the Canon 3Ti offers the high est resolution digital camera on the market today, and the low light shooting is second to none, making the Canon 3Ti one of the best selling digital cameras on the market today.

The Must Have Features of A Sports Camera You Should Look For

For a sports enthusiastic or sports photo journalist, the highest concern is acquiring the best and fastest ever sports camera that will permit the photographer capture not just the battle in the field, but the high adrenaline rush and the fierce ambience of that very minute. Beside speed, superiority and durability are also two determinants of the quality of a brilliant sports camera as the pro photographers or photo journalist would love to sport the best one in the market. Strength or in other words, durability, is believed to be one of the most significant aspects of an advanced technical camera, especially which is designed to serve the purpose of water sports or motor sports photographer. Better design is also another requisite as it is required to survive the harshest atmosphere in the field.

Now, currently, the market is literally flooded with cameras like Bullet HD 720p, but you must be careful while making your choice. When you are a pro-photographer or aspiring photojournalist, people would expect to see the best from you. Although almost all the sports cameras guarantee numerous features, it’s up to you to ensure that you are buying the best one indeed. Here we will talk about those must have features.

For a journalist who covers mostly water sports or someone interested in water ballet, water-resistance will be the first requirement. Suppose you got the biggest assignment of covering the most sought after scuba-diving competition and you appeared with a non-waterproof camera! Can you afford to let such a situation arise? I am sure you cannot. Sports cam made for pro level has to be waterproof. Like Bullet HD 720p, a professional sports camera that affirms being the foremost water-resistant sports camera showcasing World Class IP68 Standard waterproof housing.

Camera Resolution

Right now, almost every next camera, not excluding the sports camera, proudly claims to provide the best HD resolution. High definition or HD is the capturing resolution of a camera. Full HD i.e. 1080 or higher means big and clear picture or video. But the fact is somehow different as it shows the prevalent use of 1080i mechanism which results in blurred pictures and videos. But cameras like Bullet HD 720p offer the users a capturing resolution of 1280×720 @ 30FPS.

Mounting Options

Different mounting options prove the flexibility of a genuine sports camera. Rather than spending bucks on cameras with medieval mounting options, opt something better like a Bullet HD 720p. A real sports cam is provided with universal mount adapter, 360 mount for handlebar, camcorder mount adapter, strap mount for helmet etc.

A professional photojournalist or sports camera enthusiast is not allowed to sit in a fixed position and record the whole act from a fixed angle. Hence being a pro photographer you need the best cam with diversity and vibrancy resistance so that it never comes in between you and your professional requirements. Sports cams such as Bullet HD 720p ensure all the above features and specialties without disrupting your comfort level.
