In terms of display, Samsung has an edge with its Super Amoled display. To answer this challenge, HTC used a completely new IPS 2 panel that provides vivid colors in their right saturation, making the viewing excellent from all angles. The colors of HTC are more realistic as compared to the deep colors of Samsung. They both have a 720 pixels HD resolution. The display of the One X is 4.7 inches while that of S3 is 4.8 inches.
The Galaxy S3 leads in processors with its Exynos quad core processor, which is better than the HTC Tegra 3 processor. The Exynos processor is faster and takes a lead between the two phones. The S3 has a memory of 16 GB, 32GB as well as 64 GB, and there is a scope for expansion with micro SD slots of up to 64GB. Whereas, the HTC has only an internal memory of 32 GB. The memory space of the One X is sufficient for most users but this might not apply for those that carry a huge amount of media on their phones. The S3 allows for memory expansion and is hence more favorable in this regard. The RAM of both of these devices is 1GB.
As far as their builds are concerned, Samsung was expected to get more innovative and make something more attractive than this. The design of the S3 is uninspiring and quite dull. The HTC looks a lot better, as is their trademark. The quality of the One X is great and makes your feel honored to just hold it. The S3 is thinner than the One X but its build is not as good as that of One X. The dimensions of S3 are 136.6mm x 70.6mm x 8.6mm and those of the X are 134.4mm x 69.9mm x 8.9mm.
Although both the S3 and One X have the same ICS software, they are made to work differently in both. The S3 has the Touch Wiz Nature UX as compared to the Sense 0.4 of the One X. The Sense is fancy and has a lot of weather widgets as well as 3D effects. It is a lot more resource savvy as well. It is more fancy than practical. On the other hand, the TouchWiz is claimed to be elegant, simple and has a more intuitive layer of ICS. There are many new features like the SmartStay and Svoice which add a unique and more practical touch to the ICS software in the S3. The One X has a better camera as compared to the S3.
